What are the guide lines?

These are the rules that you MUST abide by to submit an article, while some tell you what is acceptable or not acceptable, others are there as a guide for your article content and structure.

This directory is editorially controlled meaning that each articles must get past an editor before we publish it to go live on our site. Your article MUST meet the below criteria to be published successfully.

BASIC GUIDE LINES:

1. Most importantly, your article must be of original content.

2. (Title and Body ) Keep your title short, but catchy. Keep your Body information snappy, informative and concise, only write what you think might be interesting to others.

3. Spelling, Grammar, Sentence structure, Punctuation and Capitalization must be thoroughly checked before submission, as we can not do this on your behalf. We recommend using a Word program to help you with the above checking, then proof reading it over again and again. All alterations to rejected articles will have to be made by you. If your article is of such poor structure, spelling and grammar it may be deleted.

4. Your Article MUST BE informative and or share your unique expertise in that subject. This may include strategies, analysis, opinions, helpful tips, work experience, etc.

5. Don't try to sell your website in the article itself, include a general press release or unfounded hype. We will provided an author's bio box, "About the Author

" located at the end of each article, where you can make any sales pitches for your website.

6. MUST contain information relating directly to that chosen subject (Heading), otherwise it may not be published, or it may be moved to another heading.

7. It must contain FACT, that you can back up. Quality is what will get you noticed, bad press, lies and deception will have a negative affect on your traffic and article.

8. MUST NOT contain e-mail or Mailto: links in your articles as these will be spammed and undoubtedly be abused.

9. MUST NOT contain Web Links, every article will have a link place at the bottom under your "About the Author

" information, giving a direct link to your given web address

10. MUST NOT be an article that you ripped off from another website or something that you bought. All articles must be ORIGINAL, if you have bought an article pack that you intend to put your name to or you are thinking of altering a few well chosen words, DON'T, it will be rejected. This type of article will not benefit you in any way as thousands of that "copy" are already in circulation and search engines will pick up on this and dismiss it.

11. Your article or photo MUST NOT contain pornography/adult material, hate or violence-oriented, suggest racial intolerance, advocate against any individual, have insulting-obscene-degrading tone, or contain excess profanity.

12. Before you upload your Photo or Image, YOU MUST HAVE the sole right or permission to use and publish it, you also give permission to any third party to use this in context with our terms and conditions along with your article.

13. MUST NOT contain any content that is a violation of any law, be considered defamatory, libellous, or infringes on the legal rights of others.

14. MUST NOT be a submission of the exact same article as one that you already submitted with us or have used on any other website. Authors have tried this by submitting the same article multiple time with slight changes in the text or photo, this not only has a negative affect on you, your business that you are promoting, but may also lead to all your articles being DELETED and you being banned from our site.

15. MUST NOT be a reply to a personal email, letter, other correspondence or any personal issue.

16. MUST NOT contain information on the these subjects: pornography/adult material, spamming techniques, illicit drugs or drug paraphernalia, support for terrorism/ radicalism/ religious fanaticism, hacking, auto-surf program advocacy or promotion, bomb creation, steroid use or advocacy, weapon/ firearms/ ammunition/ dangerous knives, fighting, promotion of hard alcohol, tobacco-related products, prescription drugs or illegal any exploits.

17. If you are writing this article for a third party, you can state this in the authors bio box "About the Author

", type something like This article was written for "You clients name" or "This article was written by "Your name or business name" on the behalf of "Your clients name or business name".

TITLE:

Titles must relate to the chosen subject, they will be automatically converted to only capitalise the first letter of every word.

They will be restricted to a set amount of characters in length, Try to keep it short, but catchy.

DO NOT use any Quotes ("") etc, only apostrophes (') and commas (,) are accepted.

DO NOT end your TITLE with a period (.)

We DO NOT allow HTML tags of any kind in your TITLE and BODY, these will be stripped from your information.

We DO NOT allow your BUSINESS NAME or any WEBSITE URL to be in your TITLE.

DO NOT repeat your TITLE in the ARTICLE BODY.

Your TITLE must read as a natural title, DO NOT cram excessive KEWORDS in it or use the same word over and over again.

TITLE KEYWORDS:

As a good rule the first 3-4 words of your TITLE are the most important, they will determines the success of the article in terms of how the search engines pick it up...so choose the first 3-4 words wisely.

ARTICLE BODY:

Must be a MINIMUM of 300 words with a MAXIMUM of 1500, ideal size is 400-900.

Please DO NOT repeat your article title, website or company name in the article body.

Try to keep your article body information snappy, informative and concise, only write what you think might be interesting to others.

Any copyrights or reprint statements must be placed at the bottom of the ARTICLE BODY and not conflict with our (Under our terms of usage).

If your article body is determined to hard sell your product or service excessively it will not be published and may be DELETED. You can hype up and included direct references to your business in the (About the Author, About your business background) section, this will be shown at the botom of every artcle and can be updated on your member pages at any time.

NO HTML Tags of any kind eg, < IMG SRC > Image tags, < H1 > Tags, < b > Bold Tags, JAVA SCRIPTS, or WEB LINKS, Programming Tags and or scripts are allowed within the article body or any of our input fields.

You can include carriage returns to form paragraphs etc, simply use your enter key.

This will be shown at the bottom of EVERY article page as a direct link to your chosen website, this can be changed at any time, but must always point to a site that has a RECIPROCAL LINK that is either on or no more than 2 click from the home page.

Failure to provide an active RECIPROCAL LINK to FreeNetArticles.com will result in all your articles being suspended / deleted and your account cancelled.

ARTICLE META KEYWORDS:

You are required to place up to 10 keywords for each article, each keyword must be separated with a COMMA and NO SPACE eg (sport,health,fitness) etc.

These will be used in the Meta field to directly target your audience and search engines.

You must try to choose these carefully, as they may be used by search engines to process your article information.

It is good practice to use some of your chosen Keywords in your article, try NOT to use any Keyword more that 3 times, as they may be ignore by search engines.

Many search engines don't use keywords to help analyze your article due to years of miss use, but to completely ignore Keywords maybe unwise.

ARTICLE PHOTO / IMAGE:

On each article you can place a photo or image, it must comply to the below requirements:-

Can be either a JEPG or a GIF file.

Must be no smaller than 180px wide and 250px high when uploading to the site.

All Images will be watermarked with our site logo to prevent fraudulent use.

For best results and photo quality we suggest that you resize and compress your image to 180px wide before you upload, this will give you the best optimise image, otherwise your image will automatically be resized and compressed to fit our criteria.

We have an upload limit of 500k/bits per photo, however a resized file should be no more than 30-60k/bits.

BEFORE you upload your Photo or Image, you must have the sole right or permission to use and publish it, you also give permission to any third party to use this in context with our terms and conditions:- (Terms of Usage
